Best of Award of Excellence 2018, Wine Spectator
On Monday, July 2nd, at 2 pm on local time, Wine Spectator has announced the list of Restaurant Awards winners. Restaurant 360 Dubrovni, the only one from Croatia, earned Best of Award of Excellence 2018. Along with the Michelin star earned in March 2018 restaurant 360 Dubrovnik has a valuable accolade for its wine list, which puts him into the listing of restaurants recommended by Wine Spectator itself.
Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards are established in 1981 and divided into 3 categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award. In 2017, Restaurant 360 Dubrovnik earned first level prize – Award of Excellence while this year the accolade is in higher category – Best Award of Excellence – in which there are 1215 restaurants from all around the world. Restaurant 360 Dubrovnik is the only one from Croatia to earn this prize.
As stated within the official press release by Wine Spectator, Best of Award of Excellence recipients are restaurants who offer more extensive selections with significant vintage depth and excellent breadth across multiple regions. Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator says: “This year’s class of restaurants is one of the most impressive and innovative ever. Their wine lists keep improving, because wine lovers are eager to explore and learn. The goal of our Restaurant Awards is to support restaurant wine programs and bring them to diners’ attention through our outreach through print, digital and social media. Wine Spectator salutes every restaurant honored in the 2018 Restaurant Awards.”
Wine list in the Restaurant 360 Dubrovnik is comprised of 466 labels divided upon varieties and with a special section for Croatian and regional wines. The list of equisite and rare world wines is extensive. The focus of the wine philosophy in the restaurant is on indigenous Croatian and regional varieties. Restaurant 360 Dubrovnik is offering 70 wines by glass served by Coravin technology. Together with the Head Sommelier Rudolf Papac, restaurant has five certified sommeliers (WSET 2 and 3).
